Lisa McCarthy (Principal)

Lisa began dancing locally as a child and then trained for three years at the London College of Dance, graduating in Dance Studies and Dance Teacher Training.

She is an Associate of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) in ballet, modern, tap and national. Lisa is also a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and has recently passed her Certificate of Dance Education from the ISTD.

Lisa freelanced for two years on leaving college before establishing the Lisa Jane School of Dance in 1989.  Lisa is extremely proud of the wonderful reputation the dancing school has.

Sarah O’Neill

Sarah grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and studied ballet with Jacqui Pells at the Cape Academy Of Performing Arts. 

She gained her certificate in Ballet teaching Studies through the Royal Academy of Dance and graduated in 2007. During her years as a student Sarah excelled in her ballet exams and studio productions.

Sarah gained many awards at the highly acclaimed Cape Town Eistedffod including most promising performer. Her artistic and choreographic skills are strengths which enabled her to achieve success in several choreography competitions in both dance and Ice Skating.

Her other great love is ice skating and competed in figure skating, ice dance and synchronized skating and represented South Africa at four World Synchronized Skating Competitions and several other skating competitions. She was also involved in teaching young children and adults.

Lucinda Clark

Lucinda has been dancing with Lisa since the age of 3 and at the age of 18 went on to train at Cambridge Performing Arts where she was former head girl. She won Best commercial dancer in her first year of college and went on to be dance captain in a number of shows and pieces and assistant choreographer in her diploma show.

Throughout the 3 years Lucinda’s passion became Commercial dance/Hip hop and she is now dancing in London as well as teaching for Lisa.

Lucinda has been in various music videos, adverts, corporate shows and hair shows as well as Musicals and Pantomimes. She is currently dancing and training with companies such as Rudeye, Mark Battershall, Dance 2xs and many more. Lucinda’s credits include; Music video (Laura White), T-Mobile advert (Trafalgar square), Music Video (Sugababes), Swartzkopf hair show (Dublin – Rudeye), Cinderella (Kings theatre Glasgow), Salon International (London ExCel -BPM), A Chorus Line (Mumford Theatre, Cambridge), Aladdin (Halifax), Westside Story (The Mumford Theatre, Cambridge), Aladdin (The Regent Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent).

 

 

 

WENDY MCELROY

Wendy trained in South Africa.  She danced and taught in Spain, Germany, Greece, and Hong Kong before coming to England to work at the Lisa Jane School of Dance in 1997.  She taught ballet at the school at all levels and qualified as an Examiner with the RAD in 2004.

Wendy left the school in 2007 to pursue more examining around the world but has now come back to join us.

We are delighted Wendy is back and look forward to her expertise in what examiners look for!

 

 

 

STEPHANIE BEERE

Stephanie began dancing at the Lisa Jane School of Dance at the age of 4 and stayed until she was 19, when she went on to the University of Chichester to study her BA Honours degree in Dance and Choreography. Throughout her years in University her strength in technique was evident particularly in Contemporary Dance and since graduating from University in 2010, she has been building up her dance work as a freelance dance teacher.

In 2008 Stephanie was part of the Chichester collective dance company, touring local venues within West Sussex. She has also worked on dance placement with Yael Flexer’s dance company in Brighton and Hove, assisting their most recent choreographic piece. She has shown interest in educational workshops with Anvil Arts, helping to choreograph a musical for young children.
She has recently taught movement classes for young children at play schemes run by Hampshire Play Council and is also teaching music and movement classes at Liaise Loddon, for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.
