DANCE SHOW 2023 - SATURDAY 1 JULY

REHEARSAL DATES FOR DIARY - SUNDAY 25 JUNE AND FRIDAY 30 JUNE

We will be having our show once again at Queen Mary's College.  The venue were so welcoming and accommodating.  They are hoping to have tiered seating but cannot guarantee at the moment.  We will make sure the seats will not be crammed in so the view should be good for everyone. Most importantly ticket prices will be cheaper so invite everyone!!

Unfortunately, after contacting the Anvil they are completely fully booked and the regulations, restrictions and costings are just too much for us at the moment!

Show 2023 Decades of Dance

SATURDAY 1 JULY 2021

PERFORMANCES AT 12PM, 3.30PM, 7.30PM

DRESS AND PHOTO SHOOT - SUNDAY 25 JUNE

DRESS AND TECHNICAL RUN - FRIDAY 30 JUNE

* PLEASE TELL YOUR CHAPERONE IF YOU CARRY AN EPIPEN INHALER OR ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD BE MADE AWARE

* DON'T FORGET TO NAME EVERYTHING AND TO WRITE DOWN EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS

All children are in the Finale. At dress rehearsals we will start with the finale and then proceed with the running order. This enables the children to go home once their final item is completed. Although staring with the finale, please arrive in your first costume.

Make-up is to be worn at all dress rehearsals and performances. The children must wear make-up; otherwise they will look washed out on the stage with the strong lighting.

Make-up:

  • Light brown foundation
  • Blusher
  • Brown/reddish lipstick
  • Eyeshadow – natural tones
  • Mascara
  • Eyeliner – black or brown

Children up to the age of 7 do not need to wear foundation or eye-liner, as this can become quite messy!

Boys need a little bit of blusher and mascara.

Costumes:

All items of costumes must be named including dance shoes and accessories. Please make sure all costumes fit correctly and are ironed before the first dress rehearsal 

Make sure everything is labelled showing name, phone number and dressing room number.

Sunday 25 June

Please arrive at 1.30pm for a 2.15pm start. 

* YOU SHOULD MAKE THE CHAPERONE AWARE IF A CHILD CARRIES AN EPIPEN INHALER OR ANYTHING ELSE AS EQUALLY IMPORTANT BY THE PARENT AT DROP OFF.

*Children should arrive in their first dance outfit, with make-up and hair done.  You will be met at the entrance to the main hall (by the steps) by a chaperone who will take your child and sign them in.

*Children may bring a drink and a snack with them on this day. 

*All children are in the Finale. At dress rehearsals we will start with the finale and then proceed with the running order. This enables the children to go home once their final item is completed. 

PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographs will be taken at this dress rehearsal, after each dance the dancers will be taken to have their photographs taken. There will be individual photos and some groups may be taken depending on time. If children are in more than one dance they don't have to have a picture taken in every outfit, but they may.

Please make sure each child is signed out. Approximate collections times are:

  •  Items 1-7 finish at 3.30pm
  • Items 8-14 finish at 4.30pm
  • Items 15-21 finish at 5.30pm
  • Items 22-29 finish at 6.00pm

 Please arrive for the dress rehearsal and photo shoot at 1.30pm.

FRIDAY 30 June

Please arrive for the dress rehearsal at the Drop off point at QMC at 4.45pm.  Your child will be taken from you after being signed in.  Do not go to the dressing room with your child otherwise we will exceed the regulation numbers for fire and safety rules.

Please send each child to QMC with an attached label on them or their bag stating:

  • Name
  • Dressing Room
  • Telephone Contact number

Pick up times from the Stage Door at the QMC are as follows:

Items 1-7 finish at 7pm
Items 8-14 finish at 7.45pm
Items 15-21 finish at 8.30pm
Items 22-29  finish at 9.15pm

These are approximate timings. It is a dress rehearsal for the children but also a technical run thru. Please be patient. 

SIGNING IN AT QMC

This is something we have to do before and after every show and rehearsal. We have many helpers doing their best to sign children in and then escort them to their dressing rooms. You will not be allowed access to the dressing rooms. Please be patient when picking up your child. It takes time to make sure every child finds their parent!

We cannot let children sign themselves out unless I have received a signed letter from a parent or legal guardian.  Please do this well ahead of the show.

At the rehearsals and both shows, the children will sign in at stage door and be collected at stage door.

One dressing room will exit at a time. Parents are asked not to enter the stage door foyer; your children will exit with a chaperone.

SHOW DAY!

MATINEE SHOW.  12PM

Start: 12pm
Finish: 2pm
Drop off: 11am
Pick up: 2pm approx.

Please Remember:

  • Come wearing first costume (obviously this applies to smaller children) with hair and make-up done
  • Provide food and drink. Drinks to be in plastic bottles. No messy food. NO NUTS - DUE TO ALLERGIES
  • Bring colouring pencils, paper, reading book etc
  • Pack hairbrush, extra pins, clips, hairspray, lipstick and blusher
  • Make sure the clothes you wear or are going home in are easy to get on and off and that they do not ruin your hair or make-up. Tracksuits are best. 

You can leave your costumes and bags at the theatre in-between the shows, do not leave anything valuable.

3.30PM SHOW

Start: 3.30pm
Finish: 5.30pm
Drop off: 2.45pm
Pick up: 5.30pm

All as above. Remember to take everything home and help tidy the dressing room before leaving.

7.30PM SHOW

Start: 7.30pm
Finish: 9.30pm
Drop off: 6.45pm
Pick up: 9.30pm
